O' Sensei DePasquale Sr.
O'Sensei DePasquale Sr. was one of the true pioneers of martial arts in the
United States, having begun his study of the martial arts in the early 1940’s.
After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he returned home and
resumed his pursuit of study in the arts. He was a renowned Jujutsu Master
and held the 10th Dan rank and the titles of Ni Dai, Shihan, and Professor
of the Martial Arts. He was the founder of the International Federation of
Jujutsuans.
O'Sensei DePasquale traveled to many cities both foreign and domestic,
conducting seminars in self-defense. He founded the first Jujutsu Dojo
in the United States sanctioned by the Japanese Federation.
On September 23, 2006 at 1:30pm O'Sensei Michael DePasquale, Sr. passed away.
The world has lost a martial arts legend and pioneer. A loving husband,
father and teacher he will be sadly missed by all.

Soke Michael DePasquale Jr. is also a highly skilled Jujutsu Master. Soke DePasquale Jr. studied under his father and has carried on the tradition of Yoshitsune Waza Jujutsu as well as developing his own Combat Yoshitsune Jujutsu system. Soke DePasquale Jr. is the publisher / editor of Karate International Magazine and the author of several books on self-defense. He travels extensively, conducting seminars on self-defense with other renowned martial artists.
TRAINING
Michael DePasquale, Jr. was quite literally born to be a Martial Arts Master.
The son of the late Michael DePasquale Sr., Grandmaster of the Yoshitsune Waza
style of Ju-Jitsu. Michael Jr’s Martial Arts career began at the early age of
five, with Yoshitsune Ju-Jitsu in which he presently holds the coveted rank of
Soke (Grandmaster). He has completed and has been certified by the FBI Instructors’ program.

gun disarmament). Defensive and offensive knife techniques. Mr. DePasquale has

Michael has an extensive background in communications. He is currently the Editor/Publisher
of Karate International Magazine. KI is the largest full-color Martial Arts & Entertainment
Magazine in the World. He is also the Information Provider/ Executive Director
of the Martial Arts Worldwide Network. This is the largest single source of
Martial Arts news, education and information in cyberspace with over 36,000
pages. Amongst his other ventures Michael has completed filming his first
feature length film as Executive Producer, Writer and Lead. Not only was he
working with the stunt/fight coordination, but he also wrote three songs for
the film. The “Cutoff,” is his company, Screen Action Production’s, first
step into the Mainstream.
